Auction House

The Auction House in Path of the Idle Cultivator is a player-to-player trading panel where you list items, place bids, and exchange resources. Steam Early Access opened on 5 Sep 2026 (app 5007580, free to play). Single-player, English.

The Auction House is separate from the Fate Shop and the sect shared inventory. It is a direct trading layer between players, not a shop run by NPCs or a vendor system. You interact with other players’ listings, not with the game economy directly.

What can be listed

Items eligible for Auction House listing include:

  • Crafted materials and excess resources — pills, weapons, and materials you craft in bulk beyond what your sect or inventory can store.
  • Divine Beast parts and eggs — after you befriend or hunt a Divine Beast on the world map, parts and eggs can be listed for spirit stones.
  • Elemental nodes and fusion materials — Fan origin players and Wandering Elementalist players accumulate these; surplus can be listed.
  • Soul weapons and equipment — with some restrictions on what tier can be listed. Higher rarity items have different fee structures.
  • Other tradeable in-game items — the panel shows what categories are currently accepted.

Exact listing rules change with patches. The Auction House has fees; listing everything you find is not profitable. Check the current fee schedule in the panel before you list high-value items.

Bidding and buying

Two ways to acquire items:

  • Bid — place a bid on an active listing. If you are the highest bidder when the auction ends, you win the item. Bids have an expiration; expired bids return to your account.
  • Buy now — some listings have an instant purchase price. Skip the bid entirely and buy immediately if you prefer certainty over hunting for deals.

Bid strategically. Sniping at the last second works in some auction formats; check the exact timing rules in the current build. Some listings have reserve prices that are not visible to bidders.

Fees and profitability

The Auction House charges listing fees and possibly a final sale fee. Not every item is worth listing. The calculation:

  • Item value minus fees versus vendor sell price
  • Time investment versus profit margin
  • Whether the item will actually sell in a reasonable window

Materials you gather in bulk may be more profitable to use in alchemy or sect contributions than to list individually. The Auction House rewards strategic selling, not bulk dumping.

Auction House and Fate Shop

The Auction House is player-to-player trading for in-game items and materials. It uses spirit stones as currency.

The Fate Shop is a separate in-game store for Fate Cards, Fate bonuses, and related systems. It is not the same panel and does not use spirit stones in the same way.

Fate is not a promo code; it is an in-game item category. Do not conflate the two systems.

How the Auction House fits the loop

  1. Gather excess materials from combat, map, or sect contributions.
  2. Check if Auction House fees make listing worthwhile for each item type.
  3. List items with competitive prices or strategic bids based on current market activity.
  4. Use proceeds for manuals, spirit stones, or cultivation resources.
  5. Check Fate Shop separately for Fate-related purchases.
  6. Monitor your listings and relist unsold items or adjust prices.

The Auction House is a supplement, not a primary income source. Most spirit stones come from combat, map farming, and sect contributions. Trading is the margin play for players who want to optimize their resource flow.
