Path of the Idle Cultivator Updates Hub
Early Access status, v0.5 headlines, and a readable recap of older patches.
Path of the Idle Cultivator is in Steam Early Access. That is the whole reason this hub exists. Builds still move combat, caves, fate, and whole Ascensions. If you sit down after a week away, read here before you rebuild a bloodline overnight.
Steam Early Access opened on 5 Sep 2026 (app 5007580), free to play, English, single-player. Wuxia Dev / Wuxia Games still ship the same game on itch.io (HTML5, Windows zip, Android APK) and at cultivator-path.com. Optional Patreon Fate bonuses do not gate core content.
Start with these pages
- Steam Early Access — store FAQ in plain language: about one year of EA, always free, roughly half the planned content, Pre-Ascension plus Ascension 1, Discord as the feedback hub, save import, itch still exists.
- Patch Notes — v0.5 back through v0.2 highlights. Not a dump of every bullet. Use it to see which systems were overhauled (combat, fate, bloodline, origins) before you follow an old screenshot.
- Fate, Hell, and Heaven — v0.4.2 fate overhaul, playable unfinished Hell and Heaven as the start of finishing Ascension 2, Patreon Fate versus in-game Fate Cards, and why News is the ledger.
The in-game News tab is still the full changelog. From v0.3.5 onward the developer pointed players there instead of pasting every line on itch. This hub is the map; News is the ledger.
What v0.5 changed in one paragraph
v0.5 is the Steam Early Access build. It finishes Ascension 1, overhauls combat, and starts a cave/dungeon overhaul. It is not a 1.0. Ascension 2’s Hell and Heaven slice from v0.4.2 remains playable and unfinished. If your muscle memory is “leave Combat on 1000x packs forever,” read the patch recap: the combat tab was already on the chopping block in developer comments, and v0.5 is the first big swing.
How to keep a save while the game moves
Export from Settings (gear on the speed tab) before you switch platforms. Import that file on Steam. itch and the browser do not magically become Steam Cloud. Details sit on Steam Early Access and Hotkeys.
When a patch reworks an origin (spear, sword, palm, fist, bloodline), assume old advice on Guides is stale until you check the date. The same is true of Codes: this game rarely posts public promo strings, and a patch will not invent them.
How we write updates on this wiki
- Store wording and itch devlogs are the sources. We do not invent dates.
- We summarise. If you need the full v0.4.1 bullet list, open News or the Patreon changelog the developer linked.
- Early Access language stays Early Access. This hub will not say the game left EA until the store does.
- Cross-links go to systems pages, not to a second copy of the same recap.
Read Guides for how to play the current loop, then come back here when a number feels wrong. A stalled Breakthrough tab is more often an origin gate than a broken patch; a vanished roaming boss is more often the v0.2.5 Divine Beast swap.
If you only follow one channel besides this hub, follow Discord. The Steam FAQ names it as the place balance, bugs, and future Ascensions get argued. Itch comments still work, but the developer answers faster where the rest of the testers already are. This wiki will trail that room on purpose: we would rather be a day late than paste a half-finished Hell mechanic as if it were a finished ladder.
